Joseph Eduardo Iacona (he/him), is a practicing artist, educator, and muralist. He has supported creative exploration with communities in schools, shelters, prisons, and behavioral health facilities across Philadelphia. His personal work and collaborative projects have been exhibited in museums, galleries, and cultural institutions throughout the East Coast.

Joseph has been employed by major art organizations, both nationally and internationally recognized, including the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Mural Arts Philadelphia and The Clay Studio, to lead artistic catalysts and visiting artist residencies in collaborations with more than 100 different communities. His work with the Philadelphia Museum of Art included the development of large-scale civic engagement projects, facilitation of professional development experiences for artists growing their own socially-engaged practices, and resource development for educators and their students.

Mr. Iacona is currently the Senior Program Manager for the Public Art & Civic Engagement (PACE) Building Initiatives at the Mural Arts Institute. In this role, he works with artists, arts administrators, and civic leaders in cities across the United States, to develop and share resources that advance the growth of a national dialogue on community-driven public art practices.

Joseph has been published in Art21 Magazine, presented at numerous national conferences, and previously served on the Content Advisory Committee for the Alliance of American Museums (AAM). He is currently researching community approaches to restorative leadership through the International Institute for Restorative Practices (IIRP).
