Reflection.2015
This project was completed with funding through the Delphi Art Futures, an Artist-in-Residence program by the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The program pairs artists with high schools for a collaborative project.
Students at Parkway Center City High School explored the relationships between Art and Science. Examining the world of microbiology, they identified patterns that exist within cell structures and related them to tessellations found in stained glass & some geometric abstractions. Participants used processes that involve collaboration and chance to shape their final artwork.
The resulting residency culminated into a large scale light box that reflects a stained glass window within the school. Reflection stands just over 12 feet tall, position directly across from the original architecture that inspired it.
